The educational upon Ebay helped with all else though not which most upon the shipping information. How does which start? Do i have to take the equipment to the post bureau initial as good as find out how most it is to ship? What equipment will i need to purchase? And what is the estimate volume which ebay will take as the price after the object is sold? I'm perplexing to figure out the remuneration methoods as good any tips? I'm meditative about income orders though how do i know it's the fake? Thank we really much!
1. You absolutely want to buy a scale. The money it will save you in getting accurate weight quotes will pay for the scale in only a few months. Driving to and fro from the post office is too expensive in gas and time.
2. You will need to purchase envelopes, boxes, peanuts, bubblewrap, and labels. Remember that the post office offers FREE priority mail supplies including boxes and envelopes. You can order them online at usps.gov and have them shipped directly to your house for free. There are plenty of places to get free bubblewrap and free peanuts so check around with friends and neighbors. And you can use recycled envelopes and boxes but make sure they look clean and professional.
3. Fees vary depending on how much the item sells for at the end. There are the listing fees which are based on the starting price and what features you choose to use. For example, a listing that starts under $10 with a gallery pic will cost .80 to list. I use 5% in general to estimate my sale fee even though it can fluctuate up and down. It at least gives me an idea.
4. If you don't use PayPal then you will lose a large audience of buyers. Yes, they are going to take a fee as well, but they are well worth it. Keep in mind that most people use their credit cards through PayPal. Did you know that the American consumer will pay anywhere from 0-200% more for an item as long as they can use their credit card? That's not on eBay, that's as a buyer in general!
5. In ten years of selling I have never had a fake money order. If you take post office money orders you can cash them immediately while you are mailing your packages. No risk is involved at all! The great thing about money orders is that you don't pay a fee to PayPal.
6. Checks- I've had one check bounce in ten years. The guy's mother covered it.
I have a policy of taking a check from anyone with 10+ positive feedbacks and a good rating in general (I decide what's good). This has worked well for me and I've not had any bounced checks since I implemented this policy.
Best of luck to you!
